This Privacy Policy explains how Clique (“we”, “our”, “us”) collects, uses, stores, and shares your information when you use our mobile application (“the App”).
By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with applicable data protection laws, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
2. Information We Collect
a. Information You Provide
Account Information: Your name, email address, and profile picture, as provided by Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In.
User Content: Photos, doodles, and text posts you share in groups (automatically deleted after 24 hours).
Reports and Feedback: Information you provide when reporting content or contacting us.
b. Information We Collect Automatically
Device Information: Device model, operating system, unique device identifiers.
Usage Data: Interactions with the App (e.g., reactions, posts created, time of activity).
Log Data: IP address, access times, and crash reports.
c. Payment Information
Payments are processed by Apple Pay. We do not store or have access to your full payment card details.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
Operate and provide the App’s services.
Randomly assign daily content types (photo, doodle, text).
Display posts and reactions to group members.
Process in-app purchases and award in-app currency.
Enforce our Terms and Conditions.
Detect, investigate, and prevent illegal activity or Terms breaches.
Improve security and performance of the App.
Respond to user reports and support requests.
4. Legal Bases for Processing
We process your data under the following legal bases:
Contract: To provide the services you have requested.
Consent: Where you have agreed to specific processing (e.g., optional notifications).

Service Providers: Google Firestore, analytics, and payment processors who help us operate the App.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

All images are stored securely on our servers and encrypted.
Posts are automatically deleted after 24 hours.
We take reasonable measures to protect your data, but no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.
7. International Data Transfers
As we operate globally, your data may be transferred and stored outside the UK. We will ensure adequate safeguards are in place, in line with UK GDPR requirements.
8. Data Retention
We retain:
Account information for as long as your account is active.
Posts for 24 hours only, unless reported for investigation.
Log data and usage information for as long as needed for operational purposes, then securely deleted or anonymised.
9. Your Rights (UK & EEA Users)
You have the right to:
Access a copy of your personal data.
Request correction of inaccurate data.
Request deletion of your data (“Right to be Forgotten”).
Object to or restrict processing of your data.
Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

10. Children’s Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13 years old.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If we discover that we have collected such information without parental consent, we will delete it immediately and suspend the relevant account.

We may use cookies or similar technologies for analytics and functionality. You can disable cookies via your device settings, but some features may not work properly.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the App with the updated “Effective Date.” Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
